Dropped phone samsung captivate?

I was searching online and I couldn't find anything on google, so ill ask here, the other day my phone (samsung captive)took a nasty fall about 4ft-4ft 1/2. it fell right on the usb port of the phone. Now my phone will barely hold a charge, I had it charged all night and it said 100%, but when I took it out within minutes it dropped to 30% battery life . What I'm getting at is that is the phone salvagible? is there anything I can do to save my phone without spending tons of cash
