In order to cancel a life insurance policy do i need to sign papers or just let it get dropped?

My ex wife is asking me for a signature in order to cancel a policy. If this policy is for both of us am i entitled to some money? I believe she is cashing it out. I paid on this policy throughout our marriage...about 10 years. I do not want to sign a paper if it means that she will get all of it.
